2025 EISS Annual Conference — An International Gathering in Manisa

The European Institute of Social Security’s (EISS) traditional annual conference will be held this year on September 25–26, 2025, hosted by Manisa Metropolitan Municipality in Anemon Hotel.

The theme of the 2025 conference focuses on three critical and interconnected global issues that deeply affect social, economic, and environmental balances: climate change, natural disasters, and social security. Aiming to explore the impact of growing environmental risks and disasters on social protection systems, the conference will bring together scholars, experts, and policymakers from various disciplines.

Supported by the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, this important event will also provide a platform to highlight the crucial role of local governments in building environmental and social resilience. Participants will include both European and Turkish academics, creating a rich environment for knowledge exchange and cross-border dialogue.

Key topics to be addressed include the impact of the climate crisis on social security systems, social vulnerability in the face of natural disasters, the development of sustainable social policies, and opportunities for international cooperation. The conference will also seek to discuss new solutions in the context of climate justice and social equity.

Set against the historical and cultural backdrop of Manisa, this international conference will serve not only as a hub for academic exchange but also as a platform contributing to policy development at both local and global levels.
